If not for our valued Donors Circle Program Members -- businesses that have stepped up and offered extraordinary charitable support for our nonprofit organization -- we would not be able to make the educational strides we consistently produce in our South Florida community. Miller Construction Company
South Florida natives Thomas and Harley Miller established Miller Construction Company in 1973, setting course to differentiate their company with steady, measured growth achieved by serving discerning clients exceptionally well. During the past 40 years, Miller has developed several highly successful niche markets for on-time, on-budget delivery of design/build and construction management-at-risk projects.
One of Miller's proudest accomplishments is its Repeat Client List, including current clients the company started working with as early as the 1970s. In fact, 78% of Miller's work has been with clients who have had Miller on their team for more than one project. Nothing shows Miller's commitment to quality and satisfaction better than its ever-expanding list of repeat clients.
Miller has a proven track record of providing cost-effective construction solutions. The company's professionals commit to work in the best interests of their clients to construct a project they will be proud of for decades to come. With Miller, good-faith negotiations and a step-by-step process build confidence in the project team.
In addition to its impeccable reputation for superior client service, the Miller team has set the highest standards in South Florida for quality construction methods. Since inception of the program two decades ago, craftsmen working on Miller projects have received 348 quality Craftsmanship Awards from the Construction Association of South Florida, nearly twice as many as any other construction manager or general contractor working in South Florida.
Miller also continues to lead the pack for excellence in construction awards from other organizations such as Associated Builders & Contractors, NAIOP, Design-Build Institute of America, and CON/STEEL Tilt-Wall Systems.
Miller Construction Company's success has catapulted the firm to the forefront of community-based leadership, providing its team the opportunity to support a wide range of nonprofit organizations in the South Florida community. www.millerconstruction.com / 954-764-6550
Office Depot

Office Depot is one of the world's largest resellers of office products. Long recognized as an environmental leader, the company has made green building a cornerstone of its environmental strategy. In 2008, Office Depot became the first retailer to have a store certified under the LEED for Retail Volume Certification pilot. That store, in Austin, TX, obtained LEED NC Gold. More recently, Office Depot announced that all stores built in 2010 in North America will seek LEED CI; the company’s Global Headquarters in Boca Raton is pursuing LEED EB; and its new warehouse in Pennsylvania is pursuing LEED NC.
Office Depot's ongoing commitment to environmental leadership has recently been underscored when
Newsweek Magazine named the company as the greenest retailer in American. In Newsweek’s annual survey, Office Depot was also ranked as the 18
th greenest company in the USA due to its industry-leading scores in the following areas: Environmental Impact, Key Impacts, Disclosure, Image vs. Reality, Green Policies, and Reputation Survey.
Green Building falls under "be green" within Office Depot’s global environmental strategy to increasingly buy green, be green and sell green. To buy green, Office Depot sources thousands of products that meet or exceed LEED Sustainable Purchasing criteria. To sell green, the company has created many unique tools to help the green building community, including:
- The Green Book: A catalog of 2000+ of Office Depot’s greenest items.
- GreenerOffice website: A site with 6000+ items from light green options such as refillable pencils to the darkest green products -- e.g., 100% post-consumer recycled, carbon-balanced paper.
- GreenerOffice Checklist: A 100-step checklist to help offices go greener in a systematic manner. Steps that may contribute to LEED EB are identified.
- LEED Credit Report: For buildings that buy all supplies from Office Depot, this report can be submitted to the USGBC instead of the time-consuming online pdf.
