Welcome to the Natural Talent Design Competition 2012

Later this Fall, the US Green Building Council South Florida Chapter's Emerging Professionals will be seeking entries for its 2012 Natural Talent Design Competition (NTDC).  Check back here for dates, requests for proposals, and the like.

This year's NTDC will focus on providing input into the launch of the new LEED 2012 Rating System via focus on Miami-Dade’s “Green Destination” initiative and particularly the renovation of the County's existing stock of hotels and resorts.

Successful proposals ultimately will not only contribute content and vision to the LEED 2012 Rating System, but also support the County's efforts to make its building stock more environmentally sustainable, thus helping attract more corporate clientele and hospitality-related revenues.

This Competition provides an applied learning experience
in the principles of integrated design, sustainability, innovation,
and social consciousness, all of which are components of the LEED Green Building Rating System.  This Competition is directed toward the notion that
a sustainable future must incorporate the sustainable design of structures of every type.  The challenge exists in identifying how the planned structures within our cities can prove to have the greatest potential.

Early inquiries concerning the competition should be directed to David Truong, Emerging Professionals Chair.
