Broward Branch's March 28 Program -- Tour of Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital
The Broward Branch of the USGBC South Florida Chapter has an enviable track record of hosting outstanding educational programs and tours, and this month's program is certainly no exception!
Come join us for a tour of Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital- the only children’s hospital in the State of Florida with LEED® for New Construction “Gold” certification. This month’s program consists of an overview as to how the hospital achieved certification and a tour highlighting the various green attributes of the facility such as lighting design, water and material use, energy use as well as the incorporation of a variety of other sustainable strategies.
Program Format:
- 5:30pm - 6:00pm: Registration and GREENworking… Light fare and refreshments provided by our gracious host, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital
- 6:00pm - 6:30pm: Presentations
- 6:30pm - 7:00pm: Tour of hospital
Register now to assure your spot on the tour! Directions are as follows: Take I-95 and exit off of Hollywood Blvd. Head west on Hollywood Blvd. and make a right onto Park Rd and then a left onto Johnson St. The hospital will be on your right.
Complimentary Valet parking is available at the entrance to the building, at 1005 Joe DiMaggio Drive (this street is also called N. 35th Avenue and is between Taft and Johnson Streets in Hollywood, FL). The meeting will be held in the Conference Center, which is located on the 4th floor of this building. After passing through security at the entrance, attendees can take the elevator in the lobby to the 4th floor, and then turn left when they exit the elevator. The Conference Center is located on the left, just a few yards from the elevator.
Registrants should be sure to bring a valid photo I.D. such as a driver’s license and wear comfortable shoes since this is a walking tour.
