Past Chairs
Anyone who has served in the chief executive officer role of a business or volunteer organization appreciates the commitment of time that is put in to figuratively steer the ship safely into port.  To that end, it's with sincere thanks that we note the outstanding contributions of the past Presidents of the Chapter's Miami-Dade Branch:

  • Carole Schafmeister -- 2009-2011
  • Nick Gunia -- 2008-09
  • Seraj Saba -- 2007-08

Volunteers
The Branch's leadership team and committee make-up is comprised entirely of volunteers.  Thanks solely to these unselfish individuals' dedication, passion, expertise and long hours of volunteerism, the Miami-Dade Branch is making terrific inroads in spreading the good word about green-building initiatives.  If you are interested in learning about sustainability and green building, and if you value camaraderie, teamwork and fun, email Stephen Chang and have a discussion about volunteering for our Branch.  You won't regret it!

Miami-Dade County Art in Public Spaces LEED Education Call to Artists

As part of its LEED initiative, the CAHSD Arcola Head Start will incorporate a “green” building education program to educate students, employees and visitors to the Head Start Facility about the benefits of the building and green building in general. This project presents a unique opportunity for an artist to design the “green” educational components, which will not only contribute to LEED certification points, but will add artistic dimension to throughout the facility. Artists will be challenged to create an artwork that will challenge children (ages pre-K) to think holistically and critically about green building, global environment and creating a sustainable future. The work should empower children to take small steps that can have a big collective impact on our environment, as well as reference “green” methods used in the building the CAHSD facility. The deadline is February 10th for artists to submit their concepts Click here  for more information
